One Dead and Three Injured in Atlanta Tractor-Trailer Accident
Just before midnight on Monday, October 15, 2012, a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on Camp Creek Parkway ran a red light at the road's intersection with Butner Road in Fulton County, Georgia. The tractor-trailer impacted the driver's side of the Toyota Solara driven northbound on Butner Road by Shomari Kefentse, 22, of College Park. Tragically, Kefentse was killed on impact. After striking Kefentse's vehicle, the tractor-trailer jackknifed across the center line into oncoming traffic in the westbound lanes of Camp Creek Parkway and struck a Nissan Altima head-on seriously injuring the female driver. Before the tractor-trailer came to a stop, it rolled over and slid into a Toyota Camry. The male driver of the Camry suffered minor injuries and declined any medical treatment. Authorities are not clear on what caused the driver of the tractor trailer to run the red light, and the accident continues to be under investigation.
